Fred Wiltshire is a British & French freelance type designer and graphic designer based in London. Fred has been designing commercial and library typefaces for various studios and foundries, injecting flair, je ne sais quoi and whimsicality wherever he goes.
Fred has a background in editorial design after graduating from Arts University Bournemouth, Visual Communication. After completing the MATD at the University of Reading, Fred has since become a Type Designer, designing, expanding, refining and releasing fonts for foundries across the globe, as well as producing commercial custom typefaces for well known brands, predominantly through studio DRAMA.
Fred’s Fonts tend to favour joy and friendliness, finding a balance between quirky and functional. Each one has its own distinct personality and intended use, often covering Latin, Cyrillic and Greek.
Fred co-founded Type&Faces with Olivia Alexander and Giovanni Isnenghi in 2024. Every month T&F hosts a selection of designers to talk all things letters. From well established designers to students, we provide a platform and a sense of community for everone who loves letters.
